Per Governor Lamont, students in Connecticut schools will be required to wear face masks for at least the first month of school. All Torrington students grades K-12 will be required to wear masks in school and on school buses this September.
The TPS school reopening plan stated that the district would follow all mandates. Superintendent Lubomski sent a letter on 8/17/21 alerting parents to the announcement: "Governor Lamont (Executive Order 13a) and the Commissioner of the CT Department of Public Health (DPH) (DPH mandates) have issued a mask mandate that is in effect for all CT schools until September 30, 2021. This mandate requires that all students, staff, and visitors, regardless of vaccination status, wear masks while inside school buildings. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) is also mandating that masks will also need to be worn at all times on all public transportation, including school buses." Mask mandates will be continually updated throughout the year, based on Executive Orders, CDC, and CT Department of Health mandates. The full reopening plan for Torrington Public Schools can be found on the district website: Safe return to In-Person Instruction. Comments are closed.
